New Podcast Show with Jennifer Leggio aka Mediaphyter

What do you get when you combine a year plus Twitter relationship, numerous collaborative efforts including a social media charity auction, guest blog posts and losts of link love with a dinner argument over the merit of celebrities joining Twitter? A weekly podcast show with a good friend and kindred spirit, that's what. Yup, in a couple of weeks (shooting for June 4), Jennifer Leggio aka @Mediaphyter and I are kicking off a weekly podcast show.

The working title of our show is, "Quick 'n Dirty Social Media." Here's the tenative format we've discussed:
  • Case study (alternate B2B/B2C)
  • Featured guest
  • Opposing viewpoints based on the week's hot post/topic
  • Review of a social network du jour (think FourSquare, Plurk, Tripit)
  • Discuss a new exec that is blogging or twittering
  • Challenge
Because we'll be kicking our podcast off in three Thursdays (6:00 PM ET/3:00 PM PT), we still have time for your feedback. Are we missing something important? Are we trying to cover too much? You can either weigh in here or on the show itself (yup, we'll be broadcasting live). I don't know about you but I'm excited!

URL for the BlogTalkRadio page is coming SOON.

  1. So many podcasts don't work for my time zone on Australia's east coast - getting up at 4 am to listen to even an interesting chat is not my idea of a good way to start the day. So if you stick to your planned time it will be just when I get back from my beach walk/swim and can listen while I have breakfast.

  2. Des - First of all, great to hear from you! It's been a while since we last chatted. ;)

Second, so glad that you'll be able to listen. We'll also be recording but it will be a joy to have you join us live from down under.

    Cheers,

  3. Des:

This comes from a one-time Bris Vegas resident: Just check out the archived version! If you know the topic in advance, you might be able to submit ahead of time for Aaron and Jennifer to answer. That way, you can still be a part of the show even while you sleep!

It would help if I actually read the comments more carefully and bothered to calculate that you *would* be up for the live show. Pay no attention to the man behind the keyboard, please. :)

  5. Aaron -

I see the makings of a delightful "He Said/She Said" program...just be careful that you don't rile Jen too much or she might throw her coffee cup at you ;)

I think you've got some great topics...are you planning to cover off on ALL of them during each show? That might be a little ambitious given the depth of conversation each topic could generate. What about making each week a specific topic type that you can recycle each month - example:

    Week 1: Case Study

Week 2: Opposing Viewpoints on Hot Topic

    Week 3: Social Network/Tool Review

    Week 4: Featured Guest

Sorry for the long comment, I have my ATL Social Media Club Programming hat on :)

Best of luck - look forward to the show,

  6. Michelle - good recommendations. We considered that route (one item per show vs. multipart format) and may ultimately end up back in that camp. For now, I think we're going to try and keep it lively but if we constantly find ourselves running out of time, who knows. ;)

And trust me, I've learned to not cross Jen (at least for more than 10 minutes at a time). LOL
